This week at the LA Motor Show Volvo have unveiled a Cross Country version of the V60. The Volvo V60 Cross Country will be available in the UK with D3 FWD, D4 FWD and D4 AWD. The prices and specifications will be announced and first orders will take place in the early months of next year. Production will then get underway in time for first deliveries to take place late June.
Ground clearance is increased by 65mm over the original V60, which means it will be able to tackle a wider range of terrains. Also, a more sporty driving experience is featured with torque vectoring technology and corner traction control. Lex Kerssemakers said, “The Volvo V60 Cross Country Cross Country really is a getaway car – enabling an adventurous lifestyle in pure rugged form”.
The central ethos for the Cross Country is that it is able to be taken anywhere in comfort, thanks to high profile tyres on 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels and caters well to adventurous off-road driving as well as comfortable driving experience on the road. Increased ground clearance, skid plates on the front and rear, side scuff plates and bumper extenders gives the Volvo V60 Cross Country a purposeful and muscular physique which promotes its capable nature. Black leather sports seats with brown leather stitching alongside a new two-tone leather upholsteries will also be offered.
Volvo’s new Drive-E four-cylinder diesel engines will be available in the Cross Country and is what will power the two front wheel drive versions. Whereas a five-cylinder D4 engine will be the power source for the all-wheel drive option.
