Ok; so you want a car that is as big as an estate, can handle a bit of mud and generally looks more substantial than your neighbors car. Up until now your only real option has been one of Audi’s Allroad models, but now VW are offering their equivalent at a not so premium price.
This is the VW Passat Alltrack. A jacked up Passat Estate with all wheel drive (but only in the petrol models.) Diesel Alltracks are powered by a 2.0 litre turbo unit with either 138BHP or 168BHP. Sitting 30mm higher than the standard car, the new Passat claims to have some off-roading credentials utilising the onboard computers “off-road driving program.”
