Following the recent launch of the RC F coupé, the GS F is the next edition to Lexus’ ‘F’ line. A blend of a refined four-door saloon and an agile and fast sports car will be based on the current Lexus GF, but extensive improvements to performance moulding this ‘F’ variant into a very different machine.
Inside the sporty body lives a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine, which produces 467bhp and could certainly give German rivals something to worry about. Two combustion cycles optimise power or efficiency dependent on driving conditions. The engine is paired with an eight speed automatic gearbox with a manual shift function.
Lexus’ Torque Vectoring Differential will come as standard in the GS F and can operate in three different modes. The ‘Standard’ default mode will give a balance of agility and firmness. ‘Slalom’ puts an emphasis on a more nimble steering response and lastly ‘Track’ mode offers stability in high-speed circuit driving.
The chassis has structural reinforcements as well as an exclusive suspension package that will optimise the ride quality and the cars handling capabilities. This will lead to smooth and comfortable driving on the road and a firm and quick handling response when tackling more challenging routes.
