Lotus F1 Gain Some Force India Veterans

This year Formula One saw the welcome return of the legendary Lotus F1 team that last raced in the sport in 1994. The team although funded by Malaysian companies, are still based in Norfolk and are bent on sticking to old Lotus principles and truly bringing the once successful name back to the top. The current car was constructed in just six months, less than half the time of other teams had, has proven itself to be the best performing of the news teams in 2010. Mike Gascoyne has enlisted some of his old co-workers at Force India into Team Lotus in a bid to gain further use of the teams experiences in the sport.

Mark Smith, Lewis Butler and Marianne Hinson are all set to join the renowned green and yellow garage. Each has worked with Mike in other teams such as Renault, Force India, Red Bull and Jordan.

Force India are still kicking up a stink about some wind tunnel data that they say was passed onto Lotus. Nothing has been proven and Lotus denies receiving any information, but pinching workers from Force India probably isn’t going to make things any better. Best of luck to Lotus for the upcoming Canadian GP!
