The demand for SUVs has taken the market by storm and the truth is that by ignoring it you are missing out on the largest market. This is exactly why Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Jaguar now make such cars. Some would say that prestigious manufacturers should not stray from their roots, but what do you do when your customer base demands a product you don’t make? A Rolls-Royce SUV is on the way and today saw the first official picture.
Whilst this new image still shows the Rolls-Royce SUV covered in camouflage, it is our first look at what sort of profile it will take. It’s blunt nose reflects that of the Phantom and, unsurprisingly, features that classic grill. It appears a boxy silhouette, although very little can be seen of the rear end. Currently the project name is Cullinan but that is expected to change before its 2018 launch.
It has also been revealed that this new Rolls-Royce SUV will be the first car in the brands history to feature all wheel drive. Like the next Phantom its architecture will be light weight and utilise aluminium.
