Despite the SUV’s increasing surge in popularity, hatchbacks still claim the top spot in the UK with nameplates such as Fiesta, Focus and Corsa topping the list. Small well priced family cars have two aces up their sleeve in for the form of low running costs and reasonable practicality. Vauxhall have created a new entry level to their range which will launch during 2015. Replacing the Agila and promoting a future design direction set down by the Adam and new Corsa, this is the 2015 Vauxhall Viva.
The new Vauxhall Viva sports many character lines within its compact profile. Design details along its length create a sense of motion from nose to tail. Short overhangs also boost its pleasing proportions making for a smart little city car. Inside the Viva is said to be plenty of space for five whilst the cabin is also equipped with touchscreen infotainment that can link with Apple and Android smartphones. Just one engine will be on offer for Vauxhall Viva owners being a 1.0 litre three cylinder Ecotec. It produces 74BHP and sends power to the front wheels via a 5 speed gearbox.
Pricing has yet to be announced but you will find a Viva in your nearest Vauxhall dealership next spring.
