The all-new Fiat Tipo hatchback and estate variants have both been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the Tipo saloon, which was revealed at the Istanbul Motor Show last summer, these new body styles share the same principles and design characteristics as the saloon before them. All three styles are designed to be spacious, well equipped, well built, efficient, whilst remaining affordable and stylish.

The Tipo hatchback boats impressive levels of five-door space for all occupants. Fiat claim three six-feet-plus adults can comfortably sit in the rear with plenty of leg and headroom thanks to the Tipo’s 4.37m length and 1.50m height. This doesn’t mean any compromise has been made on boot space, however. Class leading volume is offered in both the hatchback and estate, with 440 and 550 litres of stowage available respectively. Clever Fiat Tipo Hatchback Rearseating configurations in the estate also enable objects of up to 1.8m to comfortably fit on its flat load floor.

Both the hatchback and estate will be offered in three different trim levels, although standard equipment is still impressive and includes air con, remote central locking, electric mirrors, six airbags, DAB radio, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls and rear electric windows for the estate. Full details on each trim level will confirmed closer to the cars UK launch, whilst whether the saloon variant will come to the UK or not is yet to be confirmed.

Five engine options are available for both cars with two diesels and three petrol engines Fiat Tipo Estate Fronton offer. The two-turbo diesel engines come in the form of a 1.3-litre MultiJet II and a 1.6-litre MultiJet II producing 95bhp and 120bhp respectively. The petrol engine range comprises a 1.4-litre engine producing 95bhp, a 1.4-turbo petrol with 120bhp and a 1.6-litre e-TorQ engine producing 110bhp, 152 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed, torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine also boasts a combined economy figure of 76.3mpg. Choices of either automatic or dual-clutch transmissions are available for each engine as well.

The Fiat Tipo hatchback and estate will go on sale in the UK in September this year with pricing and range details to be announced closer to the vehicle’s UK launch.
