The 2014 season opener was everything we had hoped for and more when the F1 circus returned to Australia. Much has changed in the regulations bringing new technologies to arguably the most expensive racing cars ever built. Red Bull turned around a nightmarish testing season with their new driver Daniel Riciardo taking 2nd overall. It was an excellent drive from the Australian and the perfect way to start his career in a top team. That was until his disqualification… Daniel Ricciardo Disqualified from Australian Grand Prix.

Daniel Riciardo has been disqualified from the Australian Grand Prix after the FIA announced that his car exceeded the 100kg/h fuel flow limit that is in place on all cars for 2014. Stewards said that his RB10 consistently exceeded the limit. By burring more fuel a car can produce more power giving a huge advantage to that driver. Red Bull say that they have had issues with the fuel flow sensor all weekend and that the numbers are not accurate. They will appeal against the disqualification.

For now Riciardo has beens tripped of his first podium meaning that the Australian GP results now read: 1st Rosberg, 2nd Magnussen and 3rd Button. Check out our race report HERE.
