The LMP1 fight of the World Endurance Championships is one of the most intriguing in racing. Whilst Audi have dominated year after year, 2014 saw Toyota take victory away from the Germans. Porsche reentered LMP1 and produced a solid performance for their first year back. In 2015, however, they are turning things up to 11 and are aiming for the title. The new 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 has been revealed to the world. Can it fight with the other two contenders? The specifications suggest so…

This 2015 Porsche 9191 Hybrid LMP1 steps up to the 8-megajoule class meaning that more emphasis is put on its energy recovery systems and dual electric motors. Powering the rear is a revised 2.0 litre turbocharged V4 engine producing over 500HP, this is in addition to 400HP coming from the electric side of things. Body stiffness has been increased all whilst a bit of weight saving has been going on. Aerodynamic revisions hope to give the 2015 Porsche 9191 Hybrid LMP1 an advantage.

This year Porsche will field three cars in some races, with the standard two turning up to every event. Each car gets its own livery and boosts chances of victory in prestigious events such as Le Mans 24 hour.
