Lewis Hamilton buys LaFerrari
If you had a sizeable amount of disposable income, I mean millions, we wouldn’t blame you for indulging yourself. Nice houses, jet set holidays and the like would be on your shopping list. A few nice cars should also be considered and the latest batch of hybrid supercars would be a good place to start. But which to choose? Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 or LaFerrari? If you are double Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, the answer is the latter.
Just because you drive a serious piece of machinery at work doesn’t mean you can’t whilst at play also. Lewis Hamilton has reportedly treated himself to LaFerrari after hitting the ground running at the Australian Grand Prix. The British ace has a number of interesting cars in his collection including a one-off Pagani Zonda 760 LH. Whilst that Zonda is powered by a V12 Mercedes engine, LaFerrari packs an Italian V12 mated to electric motors producing 950BHP. Whilst being seen in a competitors car won’t do Merc any favours, they do not currently have a direct rival.
Just 499 LaFerrari will be produced and purchase was by invitation only. It is not known how Hamilton came by his latest mean machine, but as all were reportedly sold, his is likely sourced from a third party.
