Williams is a legendary British Formula One team with 9 constructors championships and 7 world drivers championships under their belt. Whilst it would be fair to say that the teams pace over the past few years has had them dropping down the grid, a resurgence in 2014 regularly saw them on the podium and even fighting with 2014 champions, Mercedes-Benz, for victory. Williams aim to maintain this positive trend with their new combatant, the 2015 Williams FW37.
Again sporting the world famous Martini Racing livery, the Williams FW37 builds upon the success of FW36 which proved to be a strong package. New regulations regarding the nose “offered us a slight headache” said Chief Technical Officer Pat Symonds. He continued “Although the aerodynamics of the car were impressive there is always room for improvement, particularly as we handled the new 2015 nose regulations.” Williams will again be powered by Mercedes-Benz this year, by far the strongest of the 2014 V6 hybrid engines.
Williams developed the FW36 right up until the last race of 2014 but firmly believe that their expanded team and the 2015 Williams FW37 did not suffer as a result.
Can Williams claim victory in 2015? The season opener in Australia isn’t very far away.
