Sometimes we want to have our cake and eat it, but you can’t gorge on sugary treats and not expect to have the byproduct of getting fat. It is the same with cars that attempt to be more environmentally friendly as in most cases their sacrifice is performance. That is unless you are Porsche. This this the new 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and it is not only economical, but very fast too.

Based upon the all-new Panamera, this hybrid model possesses all wheel drive with an electric motor mounted just ahead of the gearbox. Under the bonnet is a 2.9 litre V6 petrol engine and when combined with the electrical power produces 456 BHP and 516lb ft of torque. 0-62 MPH in the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid now takes just 4.6 seconds and it will go onto a top speed of 173 MPH.

Inside you will find seating for four and the new interior found on all next generation Panamera. The large bank of buttons has now been replaced with more ergonomic touch surfaces and the level of luxury has certainly stepped up.

However, the headline figure with this 2017 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is not its output, but its claimed 113 MPG. Team that with emissions of 56g/km CO2 and you have one lean, mean, green machine.
