All-new Peugeot 5008 Revealed

The all-new Peugeot 5008 has been revealed with the intent of being a serious contender in the SUV C Segment. The large seven seater SUV boasts many attributes such as Peugeot’s i-Cockpit, Efficient Modular Platform 2 along with high-tech features to better both comfort and safety.

Peugeot are placing a big emphasis on the interior of this new SUV, thanks to the i-Cockpit setup. Occupants will notice a compact steering wheel, an 8” touch screen dashboard display as well as a 12.3” high resolution digital heads up display. All finished of with HD graphics and animations. With a wheelbase length of 2.84m and overall length of 4.64m (11cm longer than the original 5008), there is plenty of space inside for occupants. The new Peugeot 5008 also boasts multiple seating configurations with three matching, separate folding seats in the second row, whose length and inclination can be adjusted as well as two removable, separate folding seats in the third row. It also boasts an impressive boot capacity of 1060 litres. Longer items of up to 3.20m can also be accommodated thanks to the folding front passenger seat.

The new 5008, like the 308 and new 3008 SUV features the Efficient Modular Platform 2 and latest Euro 6.1 powertrains. Peugeot also claim the new 5008 is and invitation to travel in luxury due to its excellent sound insulation alongside body hugging front seats with an optional massage system,  a premium Hi-Fi system and a large panoramic opening glass roof. A mirror screen function and 3D navigation is also available.

There is also a plethora of driver assistance systems: advanced grip control, hill assist descent control, automatic emergency braking, distance alert, active lane keep assist, driver attention warning, smart beam assistance, speed sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and park assist with 360 degree vision. So you’ll certainly do well to have an accident in the new 5008.

The new Peugeot 5008 also entertains the option of either an e-Kick or e-Bike electric scooters.

The new 5008 is available in four trim levels – two standard ones (Active and Allure) as well as GT Line and GT versions available. The all-new Peugeot 5008 will make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September and will go on sale in the UK from Spring 2017.
