The double R has been expanding its model range for quite a while now but each new car sticks close to that silky smooth, ultimate in refinement that is the Rolls-Royce ethos. Their new car is very different from anything in the companies history. Can the Wraith look the spirit of ecstasy in the eye?
Immediately its fastback shape promotes the performance element of this new car. It is the fastest and most powerful automobile Rolls-Royce has ever made being powered by a 642BHP V12 engine. 0-60MPH is done in just 4.4 seconds and the Wraith will go onto an electronically limited top speed of 155MPH. It’s 8 speed ZF gearbox uses GPS to select the most appropriate gear for the road ahead. Though clearly the sportiest car the brand has produced to date, they do stress that this isn’t a sporty GT car as such. Inside it still has all of the lavish trim of the Ghost that it is based upon and the Rolls-Royce experience is still promised in the Wraith.
