Build Your Perrrrr-fect Jaguar F-Type

There is no doubting that the Jaguar F-Type lived up to all of its hype. Over 50 years after the legendary E-Type, this new car had to impress. The low slung two seater is extraordinarily handsome and comes with a range of V6’s and a V8. Full details on exactly what this new “pussy cat” is all about can be found HERE. For those already salivating, Jaguar is providing the time waster of your day so for.

The F-Type configurator has gone live and for those with the money, you can now build your dream Jag whilst the rest of us carry on dreaming. There is a wide variety of options and for our specific car we chose this rather stormy grey with matching hood. What engine did we go for? Well as the original E-Type is most sought after in Series 1 guise the V6 in this car could become a future classic. Inside our dark theme continues throughout the cockpit that is also garnished with some red stitching to match the calipers.

Aston Martin VANQUISH Your Configurator Curiosities

Aston Martin has revealed its delectable new Vanquish that has absolutely captivated the media. The British V12 brute not only supplies 565BHP, but with looks that belong in an art gallery, it just exudes pure Aston Martin. We may not have £190,000 to spend on a Vanquish but Aston have allowed us some time to fantasize with their new configurator. Got some time to waste?

Colour on such a machine is an important choice and so after much deliberation we went for lightning silver. Next up was the carbon fibre detailing option, which of course we ticked… The crowning glory of our creation is its 20 spoke diamond turned graphite black rims. Try it out for yourself HERE.

Build Your Perfect Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Ferrari’s fastest ever road production car was unveiled to the world just a matter of days ago. The 730BHP V12 monster goes by the name F12 Berlinetta. This Italian stallion will rack up 0-62MPH in just 3.1 seconds and Ferrari says that its top speed is “at least 211MPH.” Though pricing has yet to be announced, Ferrari are allowing you to build up you perfect F12.

Though the options at this point in time are limited, due to them not all being reveled yet, the configurator does enough to spark a hunger for this machine. We opted for the non-metallic black paint paired with some rather persuasive black spoked alloys. The calipers are red to match other detailing on the car. Our cockpit is black and brown as this was one of two options for now, but when it comes to ordering our F12 we will be going for a predominately black look with red stitching.

Build Your 2012 Porsche 911

Today has been a quiet day. No real news to write up, nothing too interesting to talk about. So the general male response to these situations was employed, we occupied ourselves on the internet… No, not that! We found ourselves playing with Porsche’s brand new 911 configurator.

We look forward to our turn in Germanys latest sports car but until then we must settle for its virtual counterpart. Starting with the base Carrera S, our 3.8 litre flat-six 2012 911 took on a fair few optional extras. £32,571 of them to be exact! We opted for some rather sinister looking metallic grey paint with matching sports alloys. Inside a combination of black leather and brush aluminium coat just about every toy on the list. Our total cost came to an incredible £107,086 proving that there is room for a lot of movement from the cars £75,000 standard price.

Create Your Ultimate Mustang

We waste a good proportion of our time, when we should be working, at play with various car configuration bits and bobs that are forwarded to us. Now, these are all good fun and we often have arguments about who in the office has made the wrong choice of colour or mocking the person who went cheap on the options list, but Ford have now taken it to a whole new level.

The Mustang is arguably the most recognized muscle car on Earth and Ford’s new toy not only lets you customize every possible eliminate of the pony car, but through social networking made it competitive. Your ‘stang can go up against others in a huge popularity contest. It’s brilliant!

We went for a Bullet inspired Ford Boss Mustang, what about you?

Build Your Perfect 2012 Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 may be the world most successful sports car but that bragging right is no good to you if your car isn’t “just the way you want it.” The all-new Porsche 911 configurator is now online and we have wasted a good proportion ofthe morning playing with it as opposed to getting on with work.

Naturally we opted for the Carrera S with almost every optional extra you can imagine. Curiosity forced our hand as the 7 speed manual was selected. Some dark moody grey paint and matching rims gave our 911 a slightly evil demeanor, but we probably chose this colour to reflect our mood on the OPTIONAL rear windscreen wiper.

Ok, its your turn…

Build Your Aston Martin Virage

Every manufacturer looks to extend their product line-up, however in this competitive market it often leads to unnecessary products. Audi and BMW are prime candidates for producing cars that are just not needed, X6 and Q3 to name but two. The same was to go for the new Aston Martin Virage up until the seemingly modified DB9 actually proved to be a suitable machine to bridge the gap between the costly DBS and the DB9. You can sculpt your own GT with Aston’s new configuration site.

We went for a rather charming shade of green that suits the car with its bold 5 spoke graphite wheels. The V12 GT got some understated but sharp looking interior treatment in the form of black leather with silver/grey stitching and trim. The perfect combination of luxury and performance.

Build Your Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

It’s configuration time! Porsche’s biggest step for over a decade in the 911 formula is now ready for order to the first 600 who stump up the cash. The 4.0 litre GT3 RS is incredible but for those who can only dream of owning one you can now use Porsche’s new configurator. Happy playing!

Now because the 4.0 is such a focused car there are actually very few options to choose from. We went for the rather evil looking black and red combo with the addition of light weight headlamps. The gothic theme continues inside with our roll bars also being red clashing with the black leather.

Build Your Ferrari FF

Ferrari’s latest Italian stallion could be argued to be a rather unconventional one. It replaces the much loved 612 in the four-seat GT segment of the line-up yet it is very different to its predecessor. Visually it strikes out at the shooting break market with seating for four and vast quantities of boot space. Also it is equipped with the Italian’s first four-wheel-drive system enabling that epic performance from its 6.3 litre V12 in all conditions. Ferrari has just made public their new FF configuration, something we have found to be taking up a fair amount of time in the Inside Lane office.

As always there is a plentiful rainbow of colours to choose from but we are big fans of this metallic blue with black rims and the addition of red brake callipers. Inside our FF is a combination of black and beige alcantara that covers the sumptuous seats, also note our understated black and grey rev counter. Give it a go yourselves but be warned that you may lose a sizable chunk of your day.

Build Your Dream Mercedes SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has to be one of our favorite cars of last year. The orchestral V8, thrilling ride and of course those gull-wing doors make for a complete and involving experience. Personally if I had a similar budget for a supercar I had to use regularly I can’t think of much I would rather have. Merc are now letting you configure your dream SLS…

Our perfect gull-winged beast is pictured here with its black finish and contrasting red interior. It did take a good 5 minutes to decide upon what rims complimented the car best but as you can see a decision was made after a fashion. Try your hand at sculpting the perfect SLS AMG HERE with Mercedes-Benz.
