The Honda Civic has been a staple for Honda for a long time now. Many generations have lead us to this pivotal point we are currently at. The 9th incarnation, whilst competent, was not the best received Civic in history and whilst it did spawn the awesome 2016 Type R the competition was tough. Honda are upping their game with the 10th generation car and today the Japanese company played their hand. This is the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback.
Whilst America have had the 2017 Honda Civic for a while in saloon and coupe guise, it will also be coming as a hatchback. Each of this body style will be built in Swindon UK before departing for other countries. The first batch of cars has left the south coast of England bound for America where the car goes on sale in the fall. UK sales begin early 2017 along with the rest of Europe.
The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback sticks very closely to what we saw from a concept car back in March. Sharp lines detail a raked profile creating a very modern looking machine. Neat boot spoiler and wheels that fill its arches present a sporting attitude. The US cars are powered by a new 1.5 litre turbocharged engine in several states of tune, the most potent being 180 HP.
