Chrysler’s 200 of years past did seem like a bit of a lacklustre effort with a bland and uninteresting exterior and a relatively docile interior. The whole car could be summed up in one noise… “Meh.” As little brother to the larger 300, this mid-sized sedan has some stiff competition and at last Chrysler may have produced a 200 that can take them on.
Gone are the unremarkable looks and in their place a sleek executive profile that looks very smart indeed. Based upon the same platform as the Dodge Dart, the 2015 Chrysler 200 makes it debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Sculpted body lines, LED lights and an interior that matches its exterior businesslike character. Dominated by an 8.4 inch touchscreen display, the console cascades down towards bolstered seats. The 200 has really come of age. Two engines are on offer consisting of a 2.4 litre Tigershark with 184HP and a 3.6 litre V6 producing 295HP. That V6 comes with all wheel drive as standard.
Chrysler must be commended on what appears to be a real turnaround for the 200.
