The 2017 Ford GT is a very special car that not only represents Ford’s latest and greatest, but also the anniversary of the legendary 1,2,3 win at Le Mans in 1966. This new car allowed Ford to enter the iconic endurance race on the 50th anniversary of that event, and well, history has a strange way of repeating itself as the new GT claimed victory within its class. Clearly and achievement worth celebrating, Ford has revealed the Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition.
Now, getting your hands on a 2017 Ford GT is already difficult with the blue oval selecting customers from a vast amount of applicants, but the 66 Heritage Edition is going to be a rare beast indeed. Sporting a modernised livery of the original Le Mans winning GT40, it is finished in black with dual silver stripes and number 2 graphics. The alloy wheels have a hint of gold colouring to then with contrasting wheel nuts. Naked carbon fibre also garnishes parts of the exterior. Inside you get a carbon console and a unique identification plate.
Ford has yet to specify a price for the Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition, but they have said that it will be available for the 2017 model year only.
The Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition is mechanically identical to the standard car meaning that 592bhp is sourced from a 3.2 litre twin-turbocharged V6.
