So, a few years ago BMW produced the 5 Series GT. It was, to be frank, a bigger but hideously ugly machine. Despite boasting practicality the car actually offer nothing of the sort and instead went about damaging occupants spines with its harsh ride. As you can probably tell, I’m not a fan. Today BMW have announced that the 3 Series is to get the GT treatment, but can it improve upon its larger siblings disappointment.
Firstly I must admit that it looks much better. The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo actually is quite pleasing to the eye with its blunt nose and 4 Series inspired side vents. There is also hope for a more pleasurable driving experience as this car is based upon the near faultless 3 Series Touring. The longer wider 3 will have five engine options ranging from the 320i up to the 302BHP 335i. The popular 320d is also on offer. The boot is to live up to expectations also offering 25 litres more space than the estate.
The 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo goes on sale in July.
