The Jaguar E-Type has long been seen as one of the most beautiful manmade objects in history. Enzo Ferrari himself proclaimed just how stunning this British icon is and just like a fine wine, it has got better with age. Highly desirable when new and even more so today as they only become rarer. But what if you could have a brand-new E-Type today? How much do you think that would be worth. Quite the pretty penny according to Jaguar.
Six brand-new E-Type Jaguars are being produced by the company to exacting specifications of the original. These cars complete a consignment of lightweight Jaguar E-Types of which six out of the 18 car run were never finished. These cars will receive the chassis numbers they should have been given back in 1963. The manufacturing techniques used by Jaguar’s Special Operations Division, who are responsible for these cars, were the very same as they would have been back in the day. Powered by a 3.8 litre straight six, 335BHP and 280lb ft of torque will be at their new owners disposal. These lightweight E-Types possess a lightweight aluminium body shell just like their 60’s siblings.
Making their debut at Pebble Beach, each E-Type will cost an estimated £1,000,000.
