It is one of the automotive world’s worst kept secrets, but quietly Lamborghini have been developing anew flagship model based upon the Aventador. Test mules have been seen relentlessly pounding the Nurburgring and prowling the streets covered in camouflage. Any V12 supercar is an exciting prospects, but a more focused, hardcore, scissor door wearing, incarnation is something we have all bee waiting for. Well, wait no more… This is the Lamborghini Aventador S.
It is certainly a mean machine with much more aggressive bodywork donning its stealth inspired shape. Downforce is the key word here with the front splitter alone generating 130% more over the standard car. An active rear wing adds 50% more downforce to the back. Something else that might catch your eye are those Countach inspired air intakes on its back.
The Lamborghini Aventador S stains its 6.5 litre V12 heart, but now it pumps out 730 BHP. Via its all wheel drive system that makes it capable of 0-62 MPH in just 2.9 seconds and go onto a top speed of 217 MPH. Whilst on the subject of all wheel drive, the Lamborghini Aventador S can now sen 90% of its torque to the rear wheels. Four wheel steering and an 8,500 RPM redline also feature. A lighter exhaust system further promotes a focused ethos.
The Lamborghini Aventador S goes on sale next April costing from £271,146.
