Sporting SUVs are nothing new these days. A combination of sports car styling and added performance is sometimes an interesting combination on something as family friendly as an SUV. For those who wish to remain on good terms with their other half and have some fun on the way to work, the BMW X5 M, Porsche Cayenne, and Jaguar F-Pace V6 will serve you well. However, for those who like their car to be a little bit more “wild west” there is the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
This unique combination of muscle car and SUV culminates in a pretty menacing looking machine. A blunt nose is peppered with intakes and grills whilst a bulging bonnet crowns a darkened grill. Swollen wheel arches house a wide track and finishing off the rear is an aggressive diffuser. But it isn’t “all show and no go”, as the beast under the bonnet packs quite the punch.
Powered by the same 6.2 litre supercharged V8 as the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, 707 BHP is on tap along with 645lb ft of torque. 0-60 MPH takes just 3.5 seconds in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk making it the fastest accelerating SUV in the world. Top speed is said to be 180 MPH. All four wheels aid in mastering this muscle and large 400mm Brembo front brakes can bring things to an abrupt stop.
At this moment in time the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has not been confirmed for the UK.
